Understanding Ashtanga Vinyasa

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a beautifully designed system of yoga that allows practitioners to lengthen and strengthen every part of their being, as well as calming the nervous system to prepare the mind for meditation. This workshop is for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of Ashtanga Vinyasa, whether that's Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow or The Rocket. We'll go through the building blocks that characterise this style of yoga, including the fundamentals of ujai breath, bandhas (internal energy locks) & drishti (eye gaze), as well as breaking down sun salutations, vinyasas and core poses.

The workshop is suitable for any level of experience, as it can serve to introduce you to the system or to deepen your appreciation for these aspects of the practice that you may often visit but of which you want to better appreciate the benefits.
